Saint Mary's CatholicVoluntary Academy

Welcome toSaint Mary's CatholicVoluntary Academy

Class Four

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe.  It has been lovely to see the Year 6 children over the last couple of weeks and I hope to see all of the Year 5 children soon.  It has been lovely to hear about the work they have all been doing from home.  I have added some more maths and English activities below that you can look at with your children.

In maths, the year 5 children can continue revising fractions with the resources aimed at converting improper fractions into mixed numbers.  I have also include some percentage work that the year 6 children have been looking at over the last couple of weeks.

We are still reading The Last Wild by Piers Torday in class.  If you would like to see a sequence of learning for this, please email me and I will try my best to send it to you.  This sequence of learning will help to guide you through the book and provide you with questions you could ask your children.  It also outlines short pieces of writing that the children could produced based on key events from the story.

I have also attached a Talk 4 Writing booklet for you to follow which has a list of activities you can complete based on the topic.

Please feel free to continue with the science resources I added earlier and I will be looking at adding to this over the coming week.

I hope you all stay safe and I hope to see you soon

Take Care

Hi everyone,

Below I have listed a set of English and Maths tasks that your children can complete.  These tasks will fall in line with the sessions that are taking place in school with the Year 6 children.  I would also like to point out that the resources that I suggested in previous sessions are still useful and you can all keep using these from home.  I have added tasks onto Purple Mash that the children can continue to work on.  If any child needs their login details, then please email me and I will do my best to sort that out for you.

Finally please feel free to refer to the Oak National Academy which has a daily list of video lessons and activities to use.  I would recommend the fractions unit as a good revision resource.  These can be found at:

I hope you are all well and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
